Mother's Day Run/Walk Success for 17th year
The 17th edition of the Topsfield 6 - Hour Run/ Walk for Breast Cancer took place under partly cloudy skies this year and over 200 starting runners and walkers participated.
The fundraiser is annually held at Bradley Palmer State Park and raises funds for The Hunt Breast Center. All monies raised through pledges and contributions are to fight breast cancer. Many thanks go out to the park officials and volunteers of Gil's Athletic Club, who host the event.
The run was won by Ron Farkash of Plainfield, MA. Ron ran 43 miles within the 6 hour time limit on the three-mile trail loop.
On the female side GAC runner Lori Wetzel was first woman running 40 miles.
